Motivations & goals

Our Vision

Mek:EnergBio envisions a world where biogas becomes a mainstream, accessible, and transformative clean‑energy solution, empowering communities across Africa and beyond to convert local waste into sustainable power, heat, cooling, and agricultural value. By introducing and scaling biogas technologies throughout the continent—and later worldwide—we aim to build self‑sufficient, circular‑economy energy systems that strengthen local resilience, reduce pollution, and create new economic opportunities.

This vision is rooted in the Clean² – Clean City for Clean Energy program, which promotes integrated biogas and biomass systems for municipalities, farmers, and industries. Through strategic partnerships, innovative engineering, and community‑driven implementation, Mek:EnergBio strives to make decentralized biogas infrastructure a global standard for sustainable development, starting with Africa as the model for scalable impact.

Our Mission

Our mission at Mek:EnergBio is to accelerate the energy transition in Africa and worldwide by designing, developing, and delivering integrated biogas and biomass solutions that convert local waste into clean, reliable, and affordable energy. We work to strengthen energy security, improve waste management, and protect the climate, while creating lasting economic value for municipalities, farmers, and small and medium‑sized enterprises. This mission is driven by the ambition of the Clean² – Clean City for Clean Energy program and reflects our commitment to practical, bankable, and community‑centered circular‑economy projects.

Where We Work

Mek:EnergBio develops and supports projects across Africa, with active engagements and proposals in Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Mali, and Burkina Faso. Our teams work alongside municipal leaders, utilities, and agribusinesses to tailor solutions to each region’s feedstock and infrastructure realities.

How We Create Impact

  • Clean Power & Heat/Cooling – Reliable electricity and thermal energy for communities and industry.
  • Waste Valorization – Household and agricultural wastes become energy and organic fertilizers/compost, reducing landfill use and input costs.
  • Local Economies – Mini‑grids and productive heat/cold unlock value chains in storage, processing, and market access.

Partnerships & Standards

We collaborate with engineering and advisory partners to bring proven technologies, disciplined project management, and strong local execution to each engagement. We also protect our brand and know‑how with dedicated IP and compliance processes through specialized advisors.

Projects

Programme: Clean² – Clean City for Clean Energy:

Our flagship program delivering practical, scalable, and sustainable solutions for municipalities, farmers, and industries.

Powering communities. Protecting the environment. Creating long‑term value.

The circular economy program, that deploys biogas and biomass technologies to turn agricultural, forestry, and municipal waste into reliable renewable energy—including electricity, heat/cold, gas, and organic fertilizers, addresses three core challenges:
1. Valorising waste streams to create new revenue opportunities for farmers and local industries,
2. Reducing pollution in urban, peri urban, and rural communities through systematic waste recovery, and
3. Strengthening energy security with decentralized, clean and affordable power solutions.

The program includes multiple scalable project models, such as container based mini grids, hybrid biogas/solar units, and biogas plants for municipal waste to energy systems. These solutions support rural electrification, industrial processing (e.g., cocoa, agro industry), and cold chain infrastructure, enabling sustainable economic development.
